Is it possible to grow Tulips in the mountains with temperatures between -30 till -40 in the winter? 

In 2009 we startet to grow tulips on Farm backsjön with 1 000 tulip bulbs. For 2012 we have planted ca  30 000 tulipbulbs! We growing now 15 different tulips for flowers in spring and bulbs in autumn.

Long winters and extreme temperatures are en chalenge for our Polar Tulips. Also a short sommer, but with long daylight, are a challenge for our Polar Tulipbulbs! That's why we have started a research to grow tulips in the south of Lapland. Together with students, national and international, we test in 2012 more than 100 different tulips! 

Our target is that there will grow tulips in the whole region Västernorrland without using chemicals, because the nature here will take care for a positiv grow of the Polar tulips!
